Bedroom Wall Lamps {clusters}

I'm on the look-out for some wall lamps for our bedroom. Why is it that your bedroom is always the last place you put your decorating sense to use? I love the structure of these lamps, though many are too high for my budget right now. Croft & Little: Reform Sconce by Jonothan Adler ($154)

Fresh figs with goat cheese and peppered honey

Bon Appétit | August 2006

Adding pepper to the honey makes this classic Mediterranean dish new.

Makes 4 servings.

ingredients
1/4 cup honey
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
12 fresh figs
1/4 cup soft fresh goat cheese

preparation
Combine honey and pepper in small pitcher; stir to blend. Starting at stem end, cut each fig into quarters, stopping 1/2 inch from bottom to leave base intact. Gently press figs open. Spoon 1 teaspoon cheese into center of each. Arrange figs on platter; drizzle with peppered honey.

Bookshelves as Room Dividers

I have finally come to realize that bookshelves are the greatest room dividers. I had always assumed that this idea worked only in large living spaces like a studio apartment that needed a way to divide rooms. But alas, I have been seeing more and more bookcases show up in apartments that needed a place for either hiding a bad building element or making rooms seem larger than their real square footage.

Sofa Search

We have finally rid ourselves of the cheap Rooms to Go sleeper sofa we bought to use for the in-laws stay in our small apartment. After months of arguing with Rooms to Go about the issues we were having with this sofa, they finally gave in and gave us our $ back. (Advice: Don't buy from this furniture store unless you like low quality products and enjoy rude customer service.)

But, all of this means its time to get an amazing sofa to celebrate our hard-headedness! We (as in me) have decided that we need a contemporary piece to offset our wooden and leather Norwegian chairs. We've also chosen to leave the "sleeper" out of our sofa and just buy a queen sized air mattress.
